Café Artist Series Colorado Chamber Players, Sunday, December 7th at 5:30pm
|
The Colorado Chamber Players trio of flute, viola and harp will perform a delightful holiday program entitled “Celestial Dinner Music” with a piece of the same name by Pulitzer prize winner William Bolcom, as well as a serenade by Beethoven, Ropartz’s “Prelude, Chanson et Marine” and “Greensleeve” for harp quintet. Beethoven’s hugely popular Serenade op. 25 has been arranged for harp trio. This lovely version brings the charm of the 19th century serenade, often performed for the royal court, to another cozy setting at the Café.
The Café is delighted to have the CCP join us for another Artist Series collaboration, and the kitchen has designed a menu that directly compliments the 4 movements of the Bolcom “Celestial Dinner Music.”
1st Movement: Ambrosia on the Rocks, with a Twist Salad: Blood Oranges, Toasted Coconut, Star Fruit and Grapes on Greens Lightly Dressed with Orange Water and Honey Nectar
2nd Movement: Potage de Nuages Soup: Truffled Potato with Spinach Wrapped Oyster
3rd Movement: Risotto with Sacrificial Lamb and Elysian Field Lettuce Entrée: Petite Lamb Chops on Risotto with Fine Herbs and Wilted Greens
4th Movement: Transfiguration by Chocolate, with Olympian Espresso Dessert: Chocolate Pot de Crème with Kahlua Whipped Cream and Share Plates of Espresso Truffles
Coda: un petit verre d’Eau-de-Vie-Eternelle pour finir Dessert served with a glass of Mirabelle eux de Vie
Please join us for a reception featuring wine and complimentary appetizers at 5:30, followed by the concert at 6:00. The cost for the concert is $16.50 per person. Guests have the option of joining the musicians for dinner following the concert. The cost for the dinner is $50 per person (includes wine, does not include tax or gratuity). Please call the Café at (303) 458-5920 to make your reservations!
